History of the Berlin S-Bahn - pedia
The Berlin S-Bahn began on 8 August 1924 with the first section from Stettiner Vorortbahnhof to Bernau using steam locomotives.

On 13 August 1961 it was broken up when the Berlin Wall was built, resulting in two sections: the eastern part and the western part.
